MYTHOLOGY OF TUR
The following is not a mandatory read.
THE FIVE, DESCRIBED
Each god and goddess supposedly had their own temperments and personalities, driven by the totem creatures they took as physical manifestations as they walked the earth.
The Reaper Goddess, Roth took the form of a giant carrion bird. She was malignant in behavior and savage in every aspect. Merciless and unforgiving, those that crossed the Maiden of Woe oftentimes found themselves victims to her eternal grudges and were thrown into the Hells that she guardians. The Lord of Life, Taneth was exactly the opposite -- unlike his mate, he was as kind as he was forgiving -- should one have confessed their sins to the god of Life, they would have found nothing but compassion and love. As overseer to the gates of the Heavens, he took the shape of a powerful, white stag with a thousand horns.
The Avatar of Deceit, Ziatonuth was a callous, ruthless goddess. Though not obsessed in massacre of a grand scale, she thrived in the name of disorder, calamity, and catastrophe. Though not necessarily pure evil, she was most immoral; Ziatonuth blessed those that followed her barbaric ways with maddening, beserking power. Her mate, the Justicar, Bamot, led a clean and sinless lifestyle of virtue. As the god of judgment, it was he who decided whether the passing deceased were sent to Roth to burn in the afterlife or to Taneth to paradise in the heavens. He was considered an extremely proud creature, represented by his falcon form. Together, the pair would judge the passing deceased and whether they would be sent to Roth to burn in the afterlife or to Taneth to paradise in the heavens.
And above all others was the dragon-lord Goroth, whom made his seat on Tur in the Tassam Desert. As the myth goes, he burned the wasteland with a great flame and made the Gardens of Fire his throne on this world. He took the form of a great black dragon, as the myth goes, and he is rumored to have never left the Gardens -- however, as the territory is extremely unsettled, it is impossible to determine.
THE FIVE AND MAGIC
It was said that to pray to the Five would bestow great power onto their most fervent believers. Priests would beg Taneth for mercy and he would heal the wounded, the wicked would sacrifice in Ziatonuth's name and request havoc on their enemies... however, as the people have shifted to the New Pantheon, the power in the magic of the Five seems to have faded, making no considerable difference whether or not someone still prays in their name. Those that would pray to the goddesses oftentimes did so at midnight whereas those that praised Taneth or Bamot would wake at first light and take a knee of respect and submission.

THE NEW PANTHEON
The New Pantheon revolves around the Twins, Sather and Calauna.
No one knows from whence they came, but their boat touched the shore of Rugnos from the direction of the Outer Reaches... and those that witnessed their Coming were astounded by what they had seen. More a plate of pure, white energy than a nautical transport, the Twins were smiling and silent as their feet soundlessly touched the sandy shore. The brother, Sather, removed his lion-helmet and shield, dropping both to the earth as he revealed both palms, empty and open to his observers. "I have forseen a dark age to consume your world and I have come from the shadow and haze to guide your people to safety," said Sather. "And I," said Calauna, removing the hood that concealed her bandaged eyes, "have felt the misfortunes that will befall those of this world and I have come with blessings of opportunity." And so, slowly, as the Twins began to walk amongst the people, they were accepted with open and willing arms.
THE TWINS AND MAGIC
Those that trained beneath Sather's watchful eyes mastered the art of battle and realized their true inner strengths. A crippled soldier would hand his sword to the God of Protection and Sather would bless it, then return it, and the man would find his wounds healed and his limbs strong once more. Though Sather resides only in the capital of Thun, Calauna traverses both continents to bless those less fortunate. A meager brush of her hand would lead a beggar to a considerable treasure or tip the scales in more preferable favors. Though the Twins have adopted followers all throughout the world, those that actively follow them as priests and priestesses are known as the Children.
Though many pray regularly to them, it seems that through time, the magic of their blessings eventually fades and the follower must seek out the Twins once more for another. Because of this, their followers are often excited to plan an encounter to meet their deities once more. There is no denying their power to manipulate fortune and vulnerability -- those blessed either experience great luck or find themselves more durable and less prone to harm.
No one knows the extent of the power of the Twins, as most are too fearful to test the boundaries and cross them. It is only a matter of time before there is a conflict of religion -- regardless, there is an undeniable force and power behind the wake of the Twins that is incomparable to any other being in this world. Perhaps, it is simply because these gods are still so young and have physical manifestations on this earth.
